Payment Information

Payments may be processed through third-party payment processors.

BUN may receive transaction information such as the amount paid, payment status, billing information or transaction reference. Complete payment-card information may be collected and processed directly by the applicable payment processor rather than BUN.

5Business Growth Meetings, Networking Events and Other BUN Gatherings

BUN hosts Business Growth Meetings, networking events, presentations, workshops, social gatherings and other community activities.

When you register for or attend a BUN gathering, we may collect information including:

• Business name
• Professional role
• Contact information
• Business category
• Registration status
• Attendance
• How you heard about BUN
• The BUN Community or event you attended
• Information you voluntarily provide during registration
• Feedback or survey responses

We use this information to administer events, understand participation, communicate event information, improve future events and, where appropriate, follow up regarding BUN opportunities.

Information You Share During Meetings

BUN meetings are designed to encourage meaningful relationships.

Participants may voluntarily share information about themselves, their businesses, goals, experiences, challenges or other matters during conversations.

Please use good judgment when deciding what personal, confidential or commercially sensitive information to share in a group environment.

Trusted Partners are also expected to comply with confidentiality provisions contained in the BUN Trusted Partner Agreement and applicable community guidelines.

6Photography, Video and Media at BUN Events

Photography or video may occur at BUN meetings, networking events and other gatherings.

General photographs or video may capture attendees incidentally as part of the overall event.

BUN may use approved event photography or video for purposes including:

• BUN websites
• Social media
• Event recaps
• Community communications
• Promotional materials
• Public relations
• Educational materials
• Other BUN-owned marketing channels

Where appropriate, BUN may provide notice through event registration information, signage, announcements or other reasonable means.

Where a person is the primary subject of an interview, testimonial, podcast, promotional video, case study, individual social media feature or other featured content, BUN will seek appropriate additional consent where required.

7Trusted Partner Directory

BUN may maintain a public or Trusted Partner-accessible directory.

Directory information may include approved information such as:

• Name
• Professional title
• Business name
• Professional headshot
• Business logo
• BUN role
• BUN Community
• Business category
• Business specialty
• Biography
• Services
• Ideal clients
• Trusted Introduction information
• Website
• Email
• Telephone number
• Social media links
• Booking link
• BUN content or contributions

Trusted Partners will be given the opportunity to identify information approved for publication.

BUN will not intentionally publish private contact information in the directory that a Trusted Partner has not authorized for public display.

8Discovery Conversations and Trusted Partnership Information

Information provided during a Discovery Conversation or Trusted Partnership process may be used to:

• Learn about you and your business
• Understand your goals
• Evaluate mutual fit
• Determine potential Protected Business Category eligibility
• Identify the appropriate BUN Community
• Administer onboarding
• Manage the Trusted Partnership
• Maintain internal BUN records
• Provide appropriate support or opportunities

Some of this information may remain internal to BUN and may not appear publicly.

Participation in a Discovery Conversation does not require a person to become a Trusted Partner.

9Online Communities and Communication Platforms

BUN may operate communities through third-party services such as messaging applications, community platforms, membership portals, videoconferencing platforms and similar technologies.

When you participate in these spaces, other participants may be able to see information such as:

• Your name
• Profile photo
• Business name
• Contact information associated with the platform
• Messages or posts you choose to share
• Content you upload

Please review the privacy settings and privacy policies of the third-party platforms you use.

Information shared directly with other participants may no longer be within BUN’s exclusive control.

10Electronic Communications and Marketing

BUN may communicate with you through email, SMS or text messaging, WhatsApp or similar messaging applications, community platforms, social media, telephone and other electronic channels.

Some communications are administrative or transactional and may be reasonably necessary to manage an event, inquiry or Trusted Partnership. Examples include:

• Registration confirmations
• Meeting reminders
• Schedule or venue changes
• Payment notices
• Security notices
• Trusted Partner administrative information
• Policy changes

BUN may also send promotional or commercial communications where permitted by applicable law.

Where Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation applies, BUN intends to:

• Obtain or rely upon valid consent or another permitted basis
• Clearly identify the sender
• Provide applicable contact information
• Include a functioning unsubscribe mechanism where required
• Process unsubscribe requests within the legally required period
• Maintain reasonable records relating to consent and preferences

You may unsubscribe from optional marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided or contacting BUN.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily prevent BUN from sending communications that are reasonably necessary to administer an existing registration, transaction or Trusted Partnership.

11Information from Other People

We may sometimes receive personal information about you from:

• A BUN Trusted Partner
• An event co-host
• A person who introduces you to BUN
• A business partner
• A registration platform
• A publicly available business source
• Another person acting with appropriate authority or consent

We will use such information only where reasonably appropriate and permitted by applicable law.

If you provide BUN with another person’s personal information, you are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate basis for doing so.

These providers may process information on BUN’s behalf.

13Processing Outside British Columbia or Canada

Some BUN service providers or technology platforms may store or process personal information outside British Columbia or outside Canada.

As a result, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is stored or processed and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement bodies or government authorities in that jurisdiction where legally required.

BUN will take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances when selecting service providers and protecting personal information handled on our behalf.

BUN retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for:

• Providing services or Trusted Partnership benefits
• Maintaining appropriate business and financial records
• Managing legal or contractual obligations
• Resolving disputes

• Protecting legitimate business interests

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

When information is no longer reasonably required, BUN may securely delete, destroy or anonymize it, subject to legal or operational requirements.

We take reasonable steps to keep personal information accurate, complete and current where appropriate for its intended use.

Trusted Partners and other individuals are encouraged to notify BUN when important contact or profile information changes.

BUN uses reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the personal information we hold.

• Secure technology providers
• Data storage
• Staff or administrator access
• Record handling
• Backup and security processes

No electronic transmission, website, cloud service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If BUN becomes aware of a privacy or security incident, we will respond in accordance with applicable legal obligations and our internal procedures.

17Accessing or Correcting Your Personal Information

BUN’s business networking services are intended primarily for adults and business professionals.

We do not intentionally collect personal information from children for BUN Trusted Partnership, networking or business marketing purposes.

Where youth participate in a specific BUN-related initiative, appropriate consent and privacy practices will be considered based on the circumstances.

22Privacy Questions and Complaints

If you have a question, concern or complaint about BUN’s handling of personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate the concern.

When you register for or attend a Business Unlimited Network meeting or event, BUN may collect information such as your name, business name, professional role, business category, contact information, registration information and attendance.

We use this information to administer the event, communicate important event information, understand participation, improve BUN programs and, where permitted, follow up about BUN opportunities.

Photography or video may occur at BUN events. General event images may be used for BUN communications, social media, websites and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in general event photography or video, please notify a BUN representative and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preference. Separate consent may be requested when you are the primary subject of an interview, testimonial, podcast, video or other featured content.

Information you voluntarily share with other attendees during networking or group discussions may be heard or received by others. Please use appropriate discretion when sharing confidential, private or commercially sensitive information.

If you consent to receive promotional electronic communications from BUN, you may unsubscribe at any time. Administrative communications necessary to manage your registration or Trusted Partnership may still be sent where permitted.
