One Seat Per Industry. One CommunityThat Shows Up.

Each BUN Community holds one approved Trusted Partner per Protected Business Category. Right now, almost every category is open.

Trusted Partnership is for business owners and professionals who want more than introductions and business cards.

It is for people who believe strong businesses are built through trust, meaningful relationships, continuous learning, collaboration, and contribution.

We are intentional about who becomes a Trusted Partner, because every person helps shape the culture of the community.

Right Now,Your Category Is Open.

Each BUN Community holds one approved Trusted Partner per Protected Business Category. One realtor. One mortgage broker. One bookkeeper. One insurance advisor. When someone holds a category in your Community, no one else can.

We are at the beginning, which means almost every category in every Community is currently available. That will not stay true for long.

We also do not work from a fixed list of categories. Your Protected Business Category is defined around what you actually do, during the Trusted Partnership process. You are not competing to squeeze into a box someone else drew years ago.

And if the category you want is eventually held by someone in one Community, that does not close the door. BUN is growing across multiple Communities, and a neighbouring one may be the better fit for you anyway. That is exactly the kind of thing we work through together in your Discovery Conversation.

What Is a Trusted Partner?

We do not call the people in BUN members.

We call them Trusted Partners, because being part of BUN means more than paying a fee and attending meetings.

A Trusted Partner is someone who:

  • Builds relationships before asking for referrals
  • Conducts business with integrity
  • Looks for ways to help others succeed
  • Collaborates rather than competes
  • Remains open to learning and growth
  • Contributes positively to the community
  • Protects the trust others place in them

Being a Trusted Partner is not simply a title. It is a reputation earned through the way you show up.

The Culture You Are Joining

Five principles shape how we operate.

  • Relationships Before Referrals.Get to know people first. Business grows naturally from trust.
  • Collaboration Before Competition.Share knowledge, resources, ideas, and opportunities.
  • Giving Before Receiving.Contribute without keeping score.
  • Learning Before Leading.Stay curious, open to feedback, and committed to growth.
  • Trust Before Opportunity.Integrity, consistency, and professionalism create the foundation for opportunity.

Our core values guide everything we do.

Relationships First
Give Without Expectation
Integrity Always
Lifelong Learning
Community Impact
Celebrate Success

Is Trusted Partnership Right for You?

BUN may be a strong fit if you:

  • Want to build deeper business relationships
  • Prefer relationship-building over transactional networking
  • Value trust, integrity, and professionalism
  • Believe in giving as well as receiving
  • Want to keep learning and improving
  • Enjoy collaborating with other business owners and professionals
  • Want to contribute to a positive business community
  • Believe business can make a meaningful impact locally

And when it is not.

BUN is probably not the right fit if your goal is to walk into a room, collect leads, deliver a pitch, and leave.

We are building relationships for the long term. If that sounds slower than what you are looking for, we would rather tell you now than take your year.

Who You Are Building This With

BUN did not start as an idea on a whiteboard. It grew out of years of hosting business communities and paying attention to what actually works.

Debbie Balfour

Debbie Balfour

Debbie co-hosts Langley Connect and Surrey Connect alongside Jenny, and hosts the GVA Real Estate Investing Networking Pop-Up. She spent more than 25 years in technology and business transformation before moving into entrepreneurship, real estate investing, and coaching.

Jenny Holly Hansen

Jenny Holly Hansen

Jenny is the founder of Langley Connect, Surrey Connect, and North Vancouver Connect, and brings a background in insurance and commercial insurance to the relationships she builds.

Between them, they have brought hundreds of business owners together across the Lower Mainland. Business Unlimited Network is what they built after seeing, again and again, what business owners were really looking for.

How Becoming a Trusted Partner Works

We want this to feel like a conversation, not an application into a club.

1

Experience BUN

Attend a BUN event as our guest. Meet the people, see the culture, and decide for yourself whether it feels right.

2

Book a Discovery Conversation

If what you experience resonates, we talk. This is where we:

  • Learn about you and your business
  • Understand what you want from a business community
  • Answer your questions, including the investment
  • Discuss your business category
  • Explore whether there is a strong fit on both sides
3

Alignment Review

Trusted Partnership is based on more than category availability. We also consider alignment with the values and culture of the Community.

4

Confirm Your Protected Business Category

If there is mutual alignment and your category is available, your approved Protected Business Category is confirmed and held for you.

5

Become a Trusted Partner

You complete your Trusted Partner Agreement, onboarding, and directory profile, and you are welcomed into your BUN Community.

Your Commitment and Your Investment

Trusted Partnership is a one-year commitment.

The annual term exists for a reason. Relationships need time. A year gives you long enough to become genuinely known in your Community, rather than treating BUN as a short-term networking experiment.

We discuss the investment during your Discovery Conversation, once we both understand whether there is a fit. We would rather talk about whether BUN is right for you before we talk about price.

Your rate is locked for your full term. If fees change at renewal, you will know at least two months in advance.

Transparency Matters

You should understand exactly what you are joining before you commit.

Our Trusted Partner Agreement and Culture Commitment sets out the responsibilities of both BUN and the Trusted Partner, covering community expectations, Protected Business Categories, conduct and integrity, confidentiality, the partnership term, renewal, changes to benefits, and how a Trusted Partnership ends.

We encourage you to read it before you join. Nothing in it should be a surprise.

What Becomes Possible

BUN is not designed around what one person can receive. It is built around what becomes possible when the right people intentionally contribute to one another's success.

Every Trusted Partner brings something valuable. Knowledge. Experience. Relationships. Ideas. Encouragement. Connections. Perspective. And sometimes simply the willingness to help.

The stronger the contribution, the stronger the community becomes for everyone in it.

Questions People Ask

How much time will this take?

Five hours a month in Business Growth Meetings, two sessions of 2.5 hours each. Everything beyond that is yours to choose.

When and where do meetings happen?

Days and times are set by each Community, so they suit the people in it. Your Community's schedule is confirmed before you join.

Do I have to bring referrals or hit a quota?

No. There are no referral quotas at BUN. Introductions are made when someone genuinely believes two people should know one another.

Can I attend as a guest before deciding?

Yes, and we encourage it. You are welcome to attend up to four times a year in each Community, so you can get a real sense of the culture rather than judging it on one morning.

What if my category is already taken?

Right now, almost every category in every Community is open. As that changes, we will tell you honestly. If your category is held in one Community, a neighbouring one may be a better fit anyway, and we will talk that through with you.

What if I need to leave before my year is up?

Trusted Partnership is a one-year commitment, and refunds are not automatic. If your circumstances change, we ask for a conversation first. We want to understand what happened, hear any concerns, and see whether something can be resolved or another solution makes sense. BUN may provide a refund or credit in exceptional circumstances, at our discretion. The full terms are in the Trusted Partner Agreement.

What happens if there is conflict in the community?

People occasionally disagree, and disagreement itself is not contrary to our culture. How people handle it is what matters. Concerns are addressed through conversation, understanding, and resolution wherever possible. Serious or repeated conduct inconsistent with our values, integrity, or the wellbeing of the community may end a Trusted Partnership under the terms of the Agreement. The culture of the community comes first.

Ready to Start the Conversation?

If you believe business should be built through relationships, trust, learning, collaboration, and contribution, we would like to get to know you. Becoming a Trusted Partner begins with a conversation.
